Credit repair means finding what’s wrong on your credit file and getting it fixed: defaults that shouldn’t be there, judgements recorded incorrectly, enquiries you never authorised, old debts listed twice. Done properly, it’s detailed work against specific rules in the Privacy Act and the Credit Reporting Code. Done badly, it’s an industry of empty promises. Here’s how we do it, and what you can honestly expect.
What’s actually on a credit file
Your file at each of the three credit reporting bodies — Equifax, Experian and illion — carries defaults (five years), court judgements (five years), credit enquiries (five years), serious credit infringements (seven years) and two years of repayment history on your accounts. Lenders read all of it. One wrong entry may reduce your borrowing options or result in higher borrowing costs.
What can and can’t be fixed
Can be challenged: listings that are inaccurate, out of date, duplicated, made against the wrong person, or made in breach of the listing rules — for defaults that means the $150 minimum, the 60-day overdue requirement and the written notices that must be sent first. Enquiries you didn’t authorise. Judgements that misstate the court record. Files affected by identity theft.
Can’t be fixed: accurate listings, lawfully made, for debts that are genuinely yours. They expire on schedule and nothing lawful removes them early. We tell you which category your file falls into at the assessment — we do not guarantee removals, and you should walk away from anyone who does.
How it works
1. Credit file assessment — $39.95
We obtain your credit file as an access seeker — so no enquiry is recorded on your file — and go through every listing with you, giving you a straight answer: what has grounds for challenge, what doesn’t, what we’d charge to act, and what your file will look like if we succeed. If there’s nothing worth pursuing, we say so.
2. Investigation and dispute
We put creditors and credit reporting bodies to proof through their formal dispute processes — the debt, the dates, the notices, the paperwork. Where the listing can’t be substantiated, the rules require it to be corrected or removed. Our default removal and judgement removal pages explain each listing type in detail.
3. Resolution
Removed listings disappear from lender view as soon as the bureau processes the change. We confirm the outcome against your updated file.
Why people choose us
- Straight answers first. The $39.95 assessment exists so you never pay full service fees on a file we can’t help.
- Specialists, not generalists. Credit reporting is all we work in — the listing rules, the dispute processes, the escalation paths — with 20+ years in the field and direct membership with all three credit reporting bodies.
- No lock-ins, no ongoing subscriptions. Assessment first, a clear quote, then the work.
Repair, then rebuild
Removing bad listings is half the job; keeping your score climbing is the other half. Our guides cover both — start with how to remove a default, how long defaults stay, and if property is the goal, getting a home loan with a default.
Find out where you stand
Every listing on your file, what can be challenged, and exactly what it would cost — for $39.95.

Frequently asked questions
Is credit repair legal in Australia?
Yes. Providing debt management services in Australia requires an Australian Credit Licence issued under ASIC’s oversight — ours is no. 531718, and we’re a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (member 81727). The credit reporting system has formal correction and dispute processes precisely because listings are often wrong; using them properly, with evidence, is exactly what the law provides for.
Can I do this myself for free?
You can, and the bureaus must accept disputes directly from you. What we add is knowing the listing rules in detail, what creditors must be able to prove, which arguments succeed, and the persistence to escalate when a creditor fobs off a first request.
How much does credit repair cost?
The assessment is $39.95. If there’s work worth doing, we quote it before you commit — the price depends on what’s on your file, and you’ll know it upfront.
How long does it take?
Dispute responses are generally required within 30 days. Some straightforward disputes resolve within that timeframe, while more complex matters can take longer. You’ll get honest timeframes at the assessment, not a sales pitch.
