The short answer
Yes. Credit Clean Australia is a licensed Australian debt-management and credit repair provider. We hold Australian Credit Licence 531718 and are a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), member 81727. We have operated in this field for more than 20 years and work from a physical office at Suite 137, Building 1 ‘Lakehouse’, 34 Glenferrie Drive, Robina QLD 4226 (phone 1300 739 860).
You do not have to take our word for any of that. The whole point of licensing and external dispute resolution is that they can be checked independently, and below we explain exactly how to do it.
How to verify us yourself
Two checks take only a few minutes and confirm the essentials.
- Check the credit licence with ASIC. Go to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission at asic.gov.au and use ASIC Connect’s professional registers to search the Credit Licensee register. Search for Australian Credit Licence number 531718, or for the licensee name, and confirm the licence is current.
- Check AFCA membership. Go to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority at afca.org.au and use its member search / find-a-member directory to confirm membership number 81727.
You can also confirm we are a real, registered business by searching our ACN, 115 371 581, on ASIC’s registers. Doing these checks yourself is genuinely the most reliable way to confirm any provider — not only us.
What legitimate credit repair can and can’t do
A legitimate provider is honest about the limits of the work. Here is the reality, stated plainly.
What it can do: where there are proper grounds, a credit repairer can challenge listings that appear to be inaccurate, unfair, out of date, or recorded in breach of the credit reporting rules. That can include defaults, court judgements, credit enquiries, repayment history information and serious credit infringements (clearouts).
What it can’t do: no legitimate provider can remove an entry simply because you would rather it was gone. If a listing is accurate and correctly recorded, there is usually no proper basis to challenge it. And no one can honestly guarantee a removal, because the outcome depends on the facts and on how the lender or credit reporting body responds. We do not deal with bankruptcy or Part 9 debt agreements at all.
This is why we work assessment-first. For $39.95 we look at your actual credit file and tell you honestly what may be open to challenge and what is not — including when the answer is that there is nothing we can properly do. We would rather give you a straight answer than a sales pitch.
Red flags to check in any provider
Whether you are considering us or anyone else, these are worth watching for:
- Guaranteed removals. Be wary of any promise to remove listings or “fix” your score. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed, and the claim itself is a warning sign.
- No credit licence. Debt-management and credit repair providers are required to hold an Australian Credit Licence. If a provider cannot give you a licence number that checks out on ASIC’s register, walk away.
- No external dispute resolution. A legitimate provider should be an AFCA member so you have somewhere independent to go if things go wrong.
- Pressure and vagueness. High-pressure sales, reluctance to put things in writing, or unclear fees are all reasons to slow down.
- No physical presence. A verifiable business address, ACN and contactable phone number are basic signs of a real operation.
Applying that same checklist to us is exactly what we would encourage. We hold a licence you can verify, we are an AFCA member you can look up, and we publish our address, ACN and phone number.
How we keep ourselves accountable
Because credit repair is regulated, we operate under external oversight and keep our conduct in step with the privacy and credit reporting laws that govern how credit information may be handled. Calls are recorded, and we hold direct membership with all three credit reporting bodies — Equifax, Experian and illion. None of this makes us immune from scrutiny; it is what makes us accountable to it, which is the point.
If you ever have a concern, raise it with us first. If we cannot resolve it to your satisfaction, AFCA provides free, independent external dispute resolution — that avenue exists precisely so customers are not left without recourse.
Deciding for yourself
The most honest thing we can suggest is that you verify the facts, read independent feedback, and then judge for yourself. Do the ASIC and AFCA checks above. Read genuine reviews on our reviews page, which points you to independent platforms. Learn who we are on our About Credit Clean Australia page. Understand the service on our credit repair page, and read our plain-English guides.
When you are ready to see where you actually stand, you can book your credit file assessment for $39.95.
Frequently asked questions
Is Credit Clean Australia a scam?
No. We are a licensed provider (ACL 531718) and an AFCA member (81727), with a verifiable ACN and a physical Gold Coast office. You can confirm all of this independently through ASIC and AFCA using the steps above.
How do I verify the licence and membership?
Search Australian Credit Licence 531718 on ASIC Connect’s professional registers at asic.gov.au, and confirm AFCA membership 81727 through the member directory at afca.org.au. Both checks are free and take a few minutes.
Can you guarantee my listings will be removed?
No, and neither can anyone else honestly. Whether a listing can be challenged depends on the facts and on the lender’s or credit reporting body’s response. We assess your file for $39.95 and tell you truthfully what may and may not be possible.
What should I watch out for in a credit repair company?
Guaranteed removals, no verifiable credit licence, no AFCA membership, high-pressure sales, unclear fees, and no real business address are all red flags. Apply that checklist to any provider, including us.
